Denso Sales California announced that it plans to expand coverage of eight of its aftermarket product lines.  The announcements were made during the Automotive Aftermarket Product Expo (AAPEX) in Las Vegas, NV.

Denso announced that it will be expanding its domestic and import model coverage in the following product lines: Oxygen sensors, A/C compressors, radiators, condensers, fuel pumps, alternators, starters and coil on plug.  The product expansion is a result of increased demand for its products in the Americas.

Also announced at the AAPEX show was that the company would be combining two companies to form an aftermarket headquarters for the Americas called Denso Parts and Services Americas, Inc. located in Long Beach, Calif. that will support the increased demand more effectively. The reorganization will be complete on April 1, 2013,

“In The Americas, we want to grow 10 per cent per year by 2015.  Last year we announced the opening of our Mexico aftermarket sales office.  This year we also want to grow our current business in Canada, Central and South America,” said Richard Shiozaki, senior vice-president, Denso Sales California, Inc. during a press conference at the company’s booth on the floor of AAPEX. “As part of the reorganization, – American Industrial Manufacturing Services in Murietta, Caifornia, a Denso group company that produces remanufactured products including starters and alternators, will merge with our current sales office, Denso Sales California in Long Beach.

“This change mainstreams our aftermarket operations in the Americas and is aligned with the global aftermarket growth we announced last year when we introduced Denso’s Aftermarket Business Unit in Japan. Denso is dedicated to expand our sales and products into the aftermarket in the Americas. This organization change will allow us to develop and launch products more quickly for our customers in the region. The new organization will be responsible for the engineering, procurement, sales, service and planning for aftermarket, heavy duty, OES and non-automotive products.  Denso has identified the aftermarket as an essential segment to provide quality products and services to our customers.  Our commitment is to support our customers as a major global aftermarket manufacturer and go beyond our reputation as solely a Tier 1 OE supplier.”

“We launched 98 new part numbers and published new North American catalogs in May 2012,” said Fran Labun, vice-President, sales group, Denso Sales California Inc. “Now with 30,000 applications and 1,227 part numbers, we offer coverage for 99.9 percent of all vehicles through model year 2012. We’re also expanding our aftermarket thermal product lines for Denso’s compressors, radiators and condensers. In fact, DENSO’s thermal business represents 2/3 of the global market share. That means that automakers rely on our quality and innovation to remain on the leading edge of engine and cabin cooling technology. Denso’s extensive OE experience ensures that our aftermarket compressors, radiators and condensers provide unmatched performance, reliability and fitment.”
