CASCAR has announced a new sponsor partnership for entitlement rights to the CASCAR Sportsman Series. The series will now be named the “Power Water Series”. In addition to the Power Water title sponsorship, a new promotional agreement with Steam Whistle Pilsner was also announced. The Power Water Series is an Ontario-based series with race events held at Barrie Speedway, the Mosport Oval Track facility, Kawartha Speedway, and Peterborough Speedway. The series has been title sponsored by CARQUEST Auto Parts for many years, and CARQUEST will continue to support the series at the event level throughout the 2005 season.

“CARQUEST has enjoyed a long and successful relationship with CASCAR, and has been proud to be the title sponsor of the Sportsman Series for many years,” Stated Richard Racette of CARQUEST Canada. “We are pleased to welcome Power Water as the new title sponsor of the series, and we look forward to continuing to support the fans and all the race teams involved with CASCAR Racing through our support of the Power Water Series at the event level in 2005.”

“We are excited to welcome Power Water and Steam Whistle Pilsner as new sponsors of the Power Water Series,” stated CASCAR marketing director Richard Coughlin. “This is an excellent partnership in which all parties will benefit, expanding the profile and fan awareness of the Power Water Series, while providing excellent brand exposure and co-promotional opportunities for Power Water and Steam Whistle. We would also like to sincerely thank CARQUEST for their long-time support as title sponsor of the Sportsman Series, and for their continued support in 2005.”

The Power Water Series acts as a stepping-stone to Canada’s top level of motorsports, the CASCAR Super Series. The Power Water Series also provides competitors with the opportunity to compete in high-profile CASCAR Super Series oval races with minor technical changes to the cars.

In related news, 3M Canada, along with major distributor partner Rocky Mountain Sales (Alberta) Ltd. will offer an award for “The Most Improved Driver” for Western competitors that compete at each event in the Cascar Western Series. A cash award will be presented to the Western Series driver that best improves his finishing position from the previous event. In addition, a year end cash award will be presented to the competitor who has best improved his overall finishing positions from event to event throughout the season.
