Canadian Tire brings awareness to automotive careers

Canadian Tire in Kelowna B.C. has partnered with Industry Training Authority (ITA) to help raise awareness on skilled trade careers in the automotive industry.

The Kelowna Canadian Tire service manager and ITA will work with secondary schools by providing tours of service centres, speaking at career sessions and automotive courses, as well as conducting informational interviews for students to gain experience and assist with Secondary Student Apprenticeship placements.

“This has been a great opportunity for me to get some real hands on experience. They have been very supportive and have provided an excellent workplace to learn and grow in,” said Conner James, an apprentice in the work placement program at Kelowna Canadian Tire.
