AARO to host service advisor summer workshop

Management trainer Kelly Bennett will host a three-day workshop in Burlington, Ont. for service advisors, managers and owners.

The three-day session is being organized by the Automotive Aftermarket Retailers of Ontario (AARO). Each attendee will receive a “Great Service Advising Tool Kit” consisting of:

  • Flash Drive with printable forms
  • Electronic tools
  • Spreadsheets
  • Useful checklists for customers to fill in ÿ Over 30 individual tools.

Profitable selling is a science, says Bennett. Great salespeople are actually few and far between. Just like technicians who obtain newer and better tools and update their skills through training, service advisors need effective tools and up to date training as well.

His course is intended to teach:

  • Customer Service
  • Selling
  • Maximizing Productivity
  • Technical Skills
  • The ‘Magnificent 7′ ways of exceeding customer expectations
  • Thinking outside of the triangle. How to navigate out of the service advisor “Bermuda Triangle”
  • Proven sales techniques specifically for selling automotive service and repair
  • Maximizing diagnostic sales
  • Proven sales techniques for maintenance, repair, parts, sublet, and tires.

A past contributor to Canadian Technician magazine, Bennett brings 27 years of experience in training tens of thousands of small business owners and employees throughout Canada and the U.S. His “Management SOS” articles in Canadian Technician magazine provided guidance for the automotive industry for over seven years.
