Application deadline approaches for Shell Rotella and HDDC scholarships

Only five days left to apply for one of six trucking-related scholarships.

Shell Rotella and the Heavy Duty Distributor Council of Canada (HDDC) will award six scholarships for a total of $15,000 to students pursuing accreditation in trucking-related technical careers. The deadline for applications is only five days away, on February 28.

The six scholarships will be awarded in areas of trucking, logistics, supply chain management, engineering, mechanics, fleet maintenance, importing/exporting, third party logistics and shipping/receiving.

On March 30, Shell and the HDDC will select a total of six scholarship recipients across Canada to each receive $2,500 toward the completion of their post-secondary technical studies.

The scholarships will be awarded to students enrolled full-time in a program or an apprenticeship relating to the field of heavy-duty equipment, focusing on road transport. Recipients of each of the $2,500 scholarships will be chosen based on academic merit, financial need and commitment to contributing to the future success of the trucking industry.

Shell Canada Products, maker of Shell Rotella heavy duty motor oils and the HDDC are in their fifth year of their partnership in making these scholarships available and encouraging the next generation of skilled workers. The HDDC is a non-profit corporation serving the heavy-duty aftermarket.
