AIA conference aims to raise the bar

Industry insiders and automotive experts to share practical advice with shop owners, service advisors, and managers in Edmonton, Sept. 5

The Automotive Industries Association (AIA) of Canada says its Western Canada Automotive Service Providers Conference will help shops “raise the bar.”

The event, to be held at the Mayfield Inn & Suites in Edmonton, Alta. on Sept. 5, will focuses on opportunities and ways for service providers to enhance their business skills.

AIA says it recognizes that if busy shop owners and managers are going to take time away from the shop, the event must be impactful and offer value. It has arranged for a number of industry insiders and automotive experts to share practical advice with shop owners, service advisors, and managers.

Donald Cooper will share ways to sell more, manager smarter, grow your bottom line… and still have a life.

Business trainer Rui Martins will talk about business processes.

Bill Haas, owner of Haas Performance Consulting will discuss vehicle technology and service opportunities.

The luncheon speaker is Tim Shipton, president of the Alberta Enterprise Group.

The conference closes with sports commentator Jason Gregor and NHL hockey player Jason Strudwick.

On Sept. 6, the AIA’s Alberta division hosts the Rick Gibson Memorial Golf Tournament at the Raven Crest Golf & Country Club.
