A multi-tasking towing system from Putnam Hitch Products handles fifth wheels and goosenecks, but leaves a free and clear truck bed when not in use. The Freedom Towing System allows truck owners to make full use of their pickup beds when not towing.

“The Freedom System eliminates all that hardware when the truck isn’t towing because the fifth wheel stays on the trailer pinbox in an inverted position,” explains Rex Putnam, president of Putnam Hitch Products. “You simply pull the pickup away from the fifth wheel, pull the handle to remove the kingpin from the truck bed, and all that’s left is a wide open bed. When you do need to tow again, the head couples to a kingpin adapter located in the under-bed mounting assembly.”

Installers minimize cutting when putting in the under-bed portion of the Freedom hitch, which requires just a 3-1/8 in. hole.
