20th ANNUAL ‘SLAP SHOTS FOR A CAUSE’ RAISES $9,000 FOR THE CANADIAN CANCER SOCIETY

On April 22nd, 38 of the Canadian Automotive Aftermarkets All Stars got together at the Mississauga Iceland Arena for the 20th Annual Slap Shots for a Cause charity hockey tournament in support of the Canadian Cancer Society, with post-game food and refreshment provided by Canadian Technician.

This year the event raised $9,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society to be used towards cancer research, through player registrations and sweater sponsorships. Slap Shots for a Cause would like to thank the sponsoring companies for their support.

The "Koval Cup"—in memory of longtime ice sponsor Lube Koval and continued by his wife, Janice Koval—was presented to the Red sweater team during post game celebrations. Due to his fantastic goaltending which resulted in his team winning the event, Eddy "The Eagle" Gabarro from West End Automotive was voted this years MVP.
