Chris Nordoff, from Heritage Nissan in Dartmouth Nova Scotia, has been named the 2003 NISTEC National Champion. NISTEC stands for Nissan International Service Technical Excellence Contest.

After a grueling day of problem solving “bugged vehicles” in Nissan Canada’s Technical Centre on July 19th, Chris Nordoff, along with Marc Cuillerier of Pelemo Nissan in Quebec City and Tony O’Callaghan of Ericksen Nissan in Edmonton, were named 2003 NISTEC Regional Champions. Of these three Regional finalists, Chris’s scores topped all others – making him the 2003 NISTEC National Champion.

More than 700 Canadian technicians entered into NISTEC. Based on the results of a National Quiz, the top 100 technicians from each region (Western, Eastern and Quebec) were then put through additional written tests at their regional offices. From this, the top 24 technicians move forward to “hands-on” testing at the regional level, from which the top four representatives from each region are sent to Nissan Canada’s head office to determine the national finalist. Having won, Chris Nordoff will represent Canada at the World Competition of NISTEC, in Japan, in 2004.
