Canadian Named President of Acquisition-Oriented Aftermarket Company

Jordan Auto Aftermarket, Inc. has announced today the appointment of David F. Peace to the position of president and chief executive officer.
The appointment, which takes effect April 1, 2002, will see Peace succeed Richard Lerch, who has announced his intention of relinquishing daily control at the end of March 2002, to allow him to honor longstanding family commitments.
Lerch will continue to serve JAAI in an advisory capacity and as a member of the Board of Directors. David Peace has more than 20 years of automotive experience, a great many of those years in the Canadian aftermarket. He has held positions as vice president of aftermarket sales and marketing and vice president of OE sales for Walker Manufacturing, served as vice president of sales and marketing for Monroe Auto Equipment Company and the parent corporation, Tenneco Automotive and, in 1997, joined Visteon Corporation to develop an aftermarket business for the newly founded enterprise of Ford Motor Company.
In 1999 he was named vice president of Visteon’s Global Aftermarket Operations. In 2001, he was named vice president and general manager of Visteon’s Ford Truck Group, where he was responsible for the company’s relationship with their largest customer.
Peace holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Cornell University and a master’s degree in business administration from York University in Toronto, Ont. He also attended the Advance Executive Program at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill. Peace is also a member of the board of directors and presidents council of MEMA.
Jordan Auto Aftermarket, Inc. is currently comprised of three companies: Alma Products Company, DACCO, and ATCO Products. These companies manufacture and distribute powertrain and air conditioning components for the original equipment service and direct aftermarket segments of the automotive and heavy truck industries. JAAI, a subsidiary of Jordan Industries, Inc. (a diversified private holding company), was formed in 1998 as a platform for the strategic acquisition of companies in the automotive aftermarket. The organization’s headquarters are located in Alma, Michigan.
