It’s eight straight years of growth for the specialty equipment market.
The 2018 Specialty Equipment Market Association’s report saw the industry hit US$43 billion last year, up 4 per cent from the previous year and the group expects that number to go up by the end of the year.
The 2018 SEMA Market Report also found:
Pickup products accounted for US$12.44 billion (29 per cent) of sales in 2017
In-store purchases accounted for roughly two-thirds of all retail sales in 2017
A third of all specialty-equipment consumers were under 30 years old
42% of all forced induction products (turbochargers, superchargers, etc.) purchased were installed by do-it-yourselfers
