Automotive Industries Association of Canada’s director of government and industry relations, Scott Smith, will be leaving the association at year’s end.
Smith has spent the past seven years providing the AIA with advice and guidance on a number of industry and public policy issues.
“Scott’s contribution has helped the Association move forward on a number of major issues and initiatives including the Right to Repair, I-CAR training, the vehicle emissions and safety inspection programs, and provincial stewardship programs,” stated AIA president Marc Brazeau. Smith was also very active with AIA’s Paint, Body and Equipment Council, the Canadian Collision Industry Forum, the Canadian Collision Repair Night and the Motorist Assurance Program.
Smith has accepted a new position with the Canadian Wind Energy Association in Ottawa, Ont., where he will assume the position of vice president, Policy.
