Rick Gibson, a veteran of the aftermarket and chairman of the Northern Alberta Division of the Automotive Industries Association of Canada, was a devotee of both the aftermarket and minor hockey.
Gibson, who worked for Naotion Sales Inc., in Edmonton, passed away from a heart attack last Wednesday, December 4
“We were shocked and saddened to learn of Rick’s passing,” says AIA president Ray Datt. “AIA was fortunate to have Rick as a member of the board of directors as he was very committed to the aftermarket. His enthusiasm and approachable nature will be remembered by all who know him.”
A private family service was held on Tuesday, December 10. With his wife Bev’s agreement, a memorial luncheon will be organized in the future (tentatively scheduled for January 23, 2003) to celebrate Rick’s life by his friends and colleagues in the aftermarket industry.
Gibson is survived by his wife Bev, son Brent, and their family.
National Sales Inc. has set up a trust fund in Rick’s name. The trust will be used to support Rick’s two passions: the aftermarket and minor hockey. Donations can be sent to National Sales Inc. at 910 Westport Crescent, Mississauga, Ontario L5T 1G1 in the Memory of Rick Gibson in Trust.
