Akebono names Cota national sales manager

Akebono Brake Corporation has promoted Borise Cota to national sales manager for the Michigan-based company’s North American aftermarket operations.

He spent the last 18 years leading the western region and overseeing the Canadian market.

“Borise’s aftermarket experience, technological knowledge, history with the company and exemplary relationships with Akebono’s customers make him a natural fit for the national sales position,” said Wilm Uhlenbecker, president and CEO of Akebono Brake Corporation. “We congratulate his past achievements and look for even greater accomplishments in his new role.”

Cota was part of the original sales team when Akebono launched its aftermarket division in the U.S. in 2000. He will continue to be based in San Diego and report to Russ Stebbins, director of aftermarket business unit Americas.
