AIA’s new ASAP program holds EV primer event

It’s time for independent repair shops to get into the hybrid service game.

That was the predominant message at “Vehicle Programming Today!” a presentation hosted by the Automotive Industries Association of Canada, held today in North York, Ont.

One of the first events for AIA’s new ASAP (Automotive Service Associate Program) participants, it featured a full-day class by Massachusetts-based EV and hybrid trainer Craig Van Batenburg.

He pointed out the profit potential of servicing and repairing hybrid vehicles.

Attendees also got a chance to test drive plug-in electric vehicles at the venue, The Electric Vehicle Discovery Centre. The privately funded initiative was created to educate consumers about the benefits of electric vehicles.
