ABC Parts International, Inc.has earned certification to NSF International Automotive Parts Distributor Certification Program. The addition of ABC Parts brings the total number of NSF International certified distributor sites across the U.S. to 166. The increase in the number of NSF International certified distributors and parts in the automotive repair marketplace means consumers can trust that these parts will fit and function properly.
The NSF International Automotive Parts Distributor Certification Program addresses the key role distributors play in providing quality replacement parts to repairers. To earn certification, ABC Parts has demonstrated that it has effective records management and inventory tracking systems to track orders and parts through the supply chain. ABC Parts also met the following requirements of NSF International’s Automotive Distributor Certification Program:
- An ISO 9001-certified quality management system
- Business liability insurance
- Customer service procedures requiring timely order processing and communications
- A defective parts procedure including a customer part complaint process
- A formal corrective action process for complaints and an immediate recall plan (to use should the situation arise)
ABC Parts is now authorized to use the NSF International Certified Distributor mark on its website and promotional materials and ABC Parts also appears in NSF International’s online certification listings. ABC Parts, as well as all NSF International certified distributors, undergoes ongoing quality system audits in order to maintain certification.
“We are very pleased to be an NSF International certified distributor as it exemplifies the quality systems we have in place,” said Mitchell Javaheri, president of ABC Parts International, Inc. “NSF International certification provides confidence to collision repairers, insurers and consumers that ABC Parts meets the highest criteria for system management to address part traceability and quality parts.”
“A top-10 U.S. automotive insurance company now requires that their aftermarket automotive parts be purchased from NSF International Certified Automotive Parts Distributors,” said Bob Frayer, global managing director of NSF International’s Automotive Certification Programs. “Having effective systems to track orders and parts is critical in meeting the needs of insurers and repair shops. NSF International distributor certification verifies that distributors such as ABC Parts have effective systems in place and meet rigid performance standards.”
The NSF International Automotive Parts Distributor Certification Program was developed with input from collision repair shops, parts distributors and insurers. The program complements the NSF International Automotive Parts Certification Program, which certifies automotive parts, such as bumpers, brackets, rebars, sheet metal, plastic, lighting and absorbers that meet rigid quality and performance standards in terms of form, fit and function. It also dovetails with NSF International Collision Repair Shop Certification, which certifies a shop’s ability to conduct high quality repairs.
