Denso Sales California has announced plans to expand coverage of eight of its aftermarket product lines as well as plans to combine two companies to form one aftermarket headquarters for the Americas called Denso Parts and Services Americas Inc.
The announcement was made by Fran Labun, vice president, sales group at a press conference held at the Automotive Aftermarket Product Expo (AAPEX) in Las Vegas.
Denso will be expanding its domestic and import model coverage in the following product lines: Oxygen sensors, A/C compressors, radiators, condensers, fuel pumps, alternators, starters and coil on plug. The product expansion is a result of increased demand for its products in the Americas.
“We have experienced tremendous growth in our aftermarket product sales in the last 3 years, said Labun. “This expansion of our product line coverage, especially domestic model coverage, is the next step to achieve our goal or more than 10% growth each year by 2015.”
Denso is combining the two companies to form an aftermarket headquarters that will support the increased demand for aftermarket parts more effectively.
“This change mainstreams our aftermarket operations in the Americas and is aligned with the global aftermarket growth we announced last year when we introduced Denso’s Aftermarket Business unit in Japan. Denso is dedicated to expand our sales and products in the aftermarket in the Americas. This organizational change will allow us to develop and launch products more quickly for our customers in the region. The new organization will be responsible for the engineering, procurement, sales, service and planning for aftermarket, heavy duty, OES and non-automotive products,” explains Richard Shiozaki, senior vice president, Denso Sales, California.
“Our commitment is to support our customers as a major global aftermarket manufacturer and go beyond our reputation as solely a Tier 1 OE supplier,” adds Shiozaki.
Denso Sales California is an automotive components sales and distribution company that employs 300 people in Long Beach, Calif. The company’s product line includes heavy duty automotive alternators and starters, oil, cabin and air filters, spark plugs, AC compressors, oxygen sensors, ignition wires, fuel pumps and wiper blades.
Denso Sales California supplies parts for original equipment service dealers and for the independent aftermarket service centers and retailers. In addition, the company distributes heavy-duty diesel and electrical components, portable commercial air-conditioning units and industrial robots.
Denso will soon be offering a complete fuel pump module to meet high demand application coverage. A key feature of the Denso fuel pumps is an open vane impeller for greater efficiency and a highly dense armature that is only 5mm in diameter. A high speed balanced and premium grade steel shaft minimizes noise and vibration. Denso’s planned launch this spring is more than 500 fuel pump part numbers that cover 50% of all makes and models on the U.S. roads today.
