This year marks the 40th edition of the Canadian International Auto Show (CIAS) and, in recognition of this auspicious occasion, Grand Touring Automobiles (GTA) of Toronto is pleased to announce the Canadian premieres of four ultra-exclusive vehicles at their display on the 100 Level of the North Building of the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
Three of these vehicles hail from the company’s flagship showroom at 740 Dupont Street in Toronto, while the fourth signals the opening of a brand new Lamborghini showroom in Maple, Ontario. As the official dealer partner of Aston Martin, Bentley, Rolls-Royce and, now, Lamborghini, GTA is proud to be able to showcase some of the latest offerings from these exclusive brands.
The 2014 Aston Martin Vanquish has earned rave reviews since its global debut late last year and the special Skyfall Silver edition, inspired by the recent James Bond film, promises to trigger a great deal of desire. Powered by a 6.0-litre V12 that produces 585 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque, the stunning Vanquish is a world-class GT car in every respect.
On the surface of it, the 2013 Bentley Continental GT V8 Convertible might seem a mild version of its V12-powered brethren. But the truth of the matter is, it’s a technologically advanced premium drop-top with plenty of performance on tap. That V8 displaces 4.0 litres, develops 500 horsepower and sends the Continental to a top speed of 301 km/h.
The 2013 Rolls-Royce Ghost EWB is a class act from tip to tail. This elegant sedan is powered by a 6.6-litre V12 linked to an 8-speed automatic transmission and the combination produces truly effortless performance. The Ghost EWB features a wheelbase that’s been stretched by 170 mm, giving back-seat passengers even more room to relax in comfort and in style.
The 2013 Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 Spyder showcases the exciting exterior design changes that were first previewed at last year’s Paris Motor Show. For top-down performance and pure visceral pleasure, few cars approach the Gallardo: 560 horsepower, all-wheel-drive and a roof that vanishes into the rear cowling in about 20 seconds flat. The sprint to 100 km/h takes just 4.0 seconds and the car’s top speed rings in at a lofty 323 km/h.
Once the Gallardo Spyder has completed its run at the CIAS, it will head directly to its new home at 101 Auto Vaughan Drive in Maple, Ontario.
“We’re thrilled to be able to display four of our most exciting vehicles at this year’s CIAS,” said Shawn Morris, vice president operations and general manager of
Grand Touring Automobiles. “These cars are all very desirable, all for very different reasons. Furthermore, the addition of a Lamborghini dealership to our portfolio is a fantastic development and yet another step towards cementing our reputation at Toronto’s premier distributor of exclusive vehicles.”
The 2013 CIAS runs from February 15thto 24th and is expected to draw hundreds of thousands of people to the downtown Toronto venue. For CIAS specific media information from GTA, please visit grandtouringmedia.com.
